Nickel plated. The side fence which will adjust for 3/16 in to 1 in. Rabbets. is opertaed by the milled head screw and is provided with two round stems which slide in the holes on the side of the Plane and so keep the fence parallel.

This is a 17 1/2 " Jointer fitted with an adjusting device for plane irons. The letter A before the number indicates that the plane has this fitting. These device gives both the necessary vertical and lateral movement to set the cutter.
Considered by many to be the Rolls Royce of Planes

CABINET MAKERS BLOCK PLANE NO.9
Made by Stanley Rule and Level Company , Manufactured between 1867 to 1943.
This plane has adjustable throat , made of cast iron and rosewood knob. The side handle is known as "HOT DOG" among tool collectors. This metallic handle can be moved to either side of the plane. This plane was used extensively in the 1880s and 1890s by the piano makers and so became known as "Piano Makers Plane".
It is one of the 300 plus tools packed in the famous tool chest of H O Studley ,master carpenter/piano maker of 1890s.A beautiful framed poster of this tool chest, printed by "Fine Woodoworking" , can be seen in Tool Junkie store.

The Buck Family-London, through several generations were a dynasty of tool makers and sellers in London. They still operate in Tottenham Court Road, London. First started operation in 1826,they also sold many planes with their imprint "BUCK" made by other makers including Norris.

This is a very handy small woodowrkers tool. It is made on the principal of #1347 Bull nose plane, and is supplied with adjustable and detachable fence and stop.
The fence is attachable to ther bottom of the plane, and is adjustable for forming a Right or Left Hand Fillister.
The stop is attachable to either side of the Plane, and is adjustable for varying depths of rabbet.
Both fence and stop may be entirely detached, and the Plane used as an ordinary Bull Nose Plane.
